Climbing

So Erica and I have been doing alot of climbing lately. It's a lot of fun, a descent workout, and you gotta do alot of thinking. There's alot of flexibility and strength involved so its alot of fun for anyone.

There's Erica belaying for me (keeping me alive).

Closeup of a handhold. Believe me when I tell you this is a nice one. Many are angry little fuckers from hell trying to destroy your fingers.

yeah, but they do wonders for your grip! and then you'll have man-hands and can look really tough.

Just imagine how easily you'll be able to open a jar of pickles! Yeah, it will be very useful. ;-)

Have you found any crazy climbers to take you to a real rock yet??! It's awesome! Although I usually freak out for the initial lowering part... just can't get myself to sit back into nothing.

Wow could I use the word 'alot' much more? So no, I haven't built up the courage to go outside w/ this yet. I think the next time I go will be the ~10th time I've gone...

Ya the whole trust thing is kinda tough- trust in the harness, the belayer, the rope. After you do it a few times tho it gets better.

My grip is definately getting stronger, my forearms don't get as tired after one or two routes like they used to, and the skin from my middle knuckle up on my fingers is getting a little more leathery.

Sweet. I've never climbed on a wall before - only in Maine on my Outward Bound and on Cliff Drive.. I love looking around, but only after I'm all the way up! I get too tense (couldn't just let myself let go and trust the rope) to do it while I climbed =) Then, more than the belayer it was hard to trust the cams and whatever else they set in the rock to hold you when you fall.
